Cyber People
Cyber People were an Italo disco project formed in 1984. It originally consisted of Giorgio Spagna, who under the alias Cyber People released the single "Polaris" in 1984. It proved to be only a minor hit, as it was only released in Italy, and later in Germany on ZYX Records. Despite its initial sterile reception, it is considered a classic among its genre. Spagna then released "Void Vision" in 1985, and it became Cyber People's biggest hit in Europe and parts of South America. "Void Vision" is considered part of the "spacesynth" genre, which evolved in the mid-eighties and can be seen in works by other bands of that period, including Koto, Hipnosis and Laserdance. Two more singles followed, "Doctor Faustu's" and "Digital Signal Processor", in 1986 and 1988, the former being composed by Swedish pop band Samedi and the latter written by Mirko Limoni, who achieved fame in the 1980s and 90s with fellow bands Hipnosis and Black Box. Cyber People disbanded in 1988, but left some of the most important Italo disco singles ever produced. In 1993, however, Humphery Robertson, who worked with several other synthpop groups, released a LP under the name Ciber People, bearing a similar logo to the original Cyber People. The record met with moderate commercial success, and one single was released from the album.
